This edit of Morten Tyldum's 'Passengers' starts from Aurora's point of view. In my edit, Aurora (Jennifer Lawrence) wakes up to a seemingly empty ship, but soon realizes that another passenger, Jim (Chris Pratt) is already awake. We then follow the story as they slowly fall in love. We are able to see moments where Jim acts odd, but do not know why.

 

When Jim decides to propose to Aurora, it is revealed that he purposely woke her so he would not be alone, and not that it was a ship malfunction that woke her up.

 

We then flash back to when Jim woke up and his time alone on the ship and how he struggled with the idea of waking up another passenger.

This makes for the audience to learn about Jim along with Aurora, adding more suspense and drama.
