Feedback on MK17 (Issues, Errors, Suggestions, etc.)

in MCU A Chronology

This is a spot for anybody to point out anything they notice with the new MK17 cut.

Here's what I have noticed so far...as I'm currently at Pt. 23 in my watch through.

(Sorry if I did not get timestamp on some, when I do, I'll update this)

Pts. 1 & 2

SUGGESTION - Adding Stan Lee's cameo from "Avengers: Endgame"

SUGGESTION - Adding Trevor Slattery's TV Show Pilot from "All Hail The King", it was either the 1970's or 1980's

SUGGESTION - When Carol Danvers breaks free from the Supreme Intelligence, there are scenes of her past of when she fell down but got up again when she was younger. Could these be also placed in their chronological spots?

Pt. 7

SUGGESTION - Adding from "Avengers: Endgame" elevator scene with Sitwell & Rumlow up till the doors open and Cap walks in.

Pt. 13

CHRONOLOGICAL ISSUE / SUGGESTION - Thor while at the party talks about Jane, as if they where together, but in Pt. 9 the scene of her breaking up with him was included. My suggestion would be to place that break-up scene from Pt. 9 to after Pt. 13 but before Pt. 20. Sure this could be Thor playing it off, but yet by Pt. 20 it is publicly known that Jane dumped him, as a citizen of NYC mentions it.

AUDIO ISSUE - Audio out of sync at scene with Thor in the well, then followed afterwards with black out on video & random frame freezes/jumps till the end.

Pt. 14

AUDIO ISSUE - 0:10:30 approx. -- Audio suddently goes out and stays out, but if you start from after that spot the audio returns.

AUDIO REPEAT - Near the end, some of the audio during the blackscreen are repeated from earlier

Pt. 16

VIDEO ISSUE - 1:23:00 approx. -- Video cuts out for about 2 min.

Pt. 19

AUDIO ISSUE - 0:38:50 approx. -- Same audio issues occures that happened in Pt. 14

Pt. 20 & 21

CHRONOLOGICAL ISSUE - Scott Lang is on House Arrest for 2 years, so the primary events of "Ant-Man And The Wasp" takes place 2 years after Civil War. You have listed Civil War in 2016 and this Part as 2017, when it should be happening in 2018 before Infinity War. Yet also, strangely enough Bruce Banner states that it's been 2 years since Ultron (aka 2015), which would place "Thor: Raganork" in 2017. There might not be a need to split these 2 films up. My thought is that the traveling in the space ship at the end take awhile even a year, then the last scene with Thanos' ship appearing being approximately a year after the events of Raganork.

Pt. 22

REPETITIVE SCENE - 0:43:10 approx. -- Why is the flashback scene of Gamora as a child, still not yet taken out of this part I do know that this scene has been discussed before, including by myself under my old account @x2nightcrawler.

Loving it so far as always, looking real forwards to watching the rest.

Disney recently put up IMAX versions of 12 Marvel movies. Can you incorporate this version into your cut? It would really be great to see more screen area of the footage.

Chapter 19: Homecoming – The deleted scene of Happy Hogan calling his mom should be immediately before Happy stands up from the table and looks out the window. Right now it is after the scene where he sits down, which spoils Vulture and Spider-man destroying the plane's engines in the scene right afterwards.

I'm making my way through this cut and overall it is fantastic. There have been a few minor things here and there that aren't perfect though. I've been mostly ignoring them but hwere are a few I've noticed that are actual problems:

Chapter 15 has two instances of Zemo getting the Red Book, one at an auction and one from the wall. They are contradictory and the wall version is the canonical way that Zemo acquires the book, so I think the auction version needs to go. It just doesn't make sense.

Chapter 16 starts with Peter Parker still in Germany and then in New York. These should be earlier, before Stark heads out to The Raft. Similarly, Natasha fleeing to Ross and revealing herself to be in Norway should be immediately after the Peter and Stark in New York scene, before Stark goes to The Raft. Several days clearly take place between the end of the Fight in Berlin and everyone going to The Raft, and these two scenes take place then. I'm more flexible with the Strange scene, but it could go after the Taskmaster's attempt to kill Natasha in Norway. There is a slight chronological gap between then and Natasha arriving in Budapest, so that would be a nice filler to give a space of time. Lastly, you show the flashback of Natasha killing the girl while she recounts the story, but I think this should be left out since you already include that flashback chronologically when it happens. She has no voiceover in the scene, so it could be cut. Only the music cues would need fixing.

That's all for the moment, but I'll add anything else if I notice it. I should have been doing that all along, but I got lazy.

Ross actually tells Natasha that everyone else has been arrested, but it also feels like it's only hours after the fight. Remember that Hawkeye and Ant-Man were exhausted by the end of the battle, and Falcon was in grief over injuring Rhodey. I'm not sure how they captured Wanda, but that's not the point. Natasha fled the scene and Ross wouldn't allow her to escape that easily. He knew that if he waited too long, she'd ghost him (as she did), so I suspect she fled to the hotel (or wherever it was), set up the trap for Ross, and then immediately caught a flight to Norway. I assume the nearest airport was not where she was going, hence why we see her on the ferry. But also, Marvel geography is bad (see previous discussion about Tony travelling from Berlin (possibly to New York) to The Raft and then Siberia and somehow beating Rogers and Barns there). In any case, I feel Natasha's escape should take place before The Raft scene if for no other reason than Ross is still in Berlin in Black Widow but is on The Raft with Stark. It doesn't make sense for him to fly all the way to The Raft and back just to oversee Natasha's capture. It has to be part of the mop-up after the fight.

@chartierthemonk Natasha didn't flee the scene right after the airport battle though. Remember that she was with Tony, Vision and Rhodey at the hospital. So the most logical thing for me is that while she left the hospital to go to the hotel and set up the trap, Tony flew directly to the Raft where Ross was waiting for him. After that Ross returned to Berlin to catch her. That make the most sense to me, as your suggestion implies that Tony waited a lot longer to go to the raft after she left the hospital. She would have had to have left the hospital and arrive in Norway, so Ross could arrive at the hotel (after she arrived in Norway) and see she she wasn't there, when Ross subsequently went to the Raft to be there before Tony, who for some reason just waited off screen, all that time, until Ross arrived at the Raft, to go to the Raft himself. For all those events to occur while Cap and Bucky were on their way to Siberia just doesn't make sense to me. I think it's much more likely that Ross was just too busy with processing the prisoners to go after Natasha right away and then returned to Berlin afterwards. I mean if he wasn't, why didn't he come after her while she was at the hospital?

@chartierthemonk Alright, so I just watched the scene with Nat and Tony at the hospital again. Right after Nat leaves him, Tony gets a notification from Friday, says "fire up the chopper" and seems to go straight to the Raft where Ross is waiting. So Ross couldn't be in Germany at that point in time. He would have had to return, which aligns perfectly with Nat travelling to Norway in the meantime.

Hey I noticed something in part 6 (timestamp: 50:05), it's just after the deleted scene with darcy and the dog (thor), you have a repeat of erik making people leave the diner. the part after isn't a repeat so if you cut out erik his repeating part it should still work.
